Today’s photo is the Scala Sancta in Rome.  These 26 steps are said to be the same steps Jesus was made to crawl during the Passion.  They were brought to Rome by Constantine’s mother.  You are not allowed to walk these steps you must go up on your knees.  It is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life.  It is exhausting and grueling.  The building is only open for a couple hours a day and we were some of the last to enter, so by the time we caught our breath the place was empty.  I was able to grab this shot of the empty steps as we left.  Sony NEX-5N, SEL16mm, 1/160, f/3.2, ISO 1250
